Cherokee was a rescue pony drifted in from the hills of Dartmoor due to overbreeding going mad and a harsh winter coming up! They needed to get the ponies off because there are too many due to irresponsible people chucking their untested or unpurebred stallions on the moors instead of keeping them away from mares/gelding them!

We saw her on a rescue page and couldn't leave her, even if it meant a 7 hour drive to Dartmoor to get her!!!

She is a 12hh 2 1/2yr old blue and white dartmoor hill pony filly who is very grubby right now haha.

I have only had her a day at home and already she has eaten from my hands, she is completely wild the only human contact she has had was from the roundup!!

I love her <3

She is named so because of moving to Texas with them we thought it was fitting

All the horses that don't find homes from the appeal are going to become food for the local zoos, not even joking, we wish we could of taken more if we can get some more land with a friend we will be going back there for 2 more!
